ECO Wave Power to Significantly Boost Global Energy Needs

Eco Wave Power, a leader in the wave energy sector, has been selected by a major energy company to conduct an extensive feasibility study to identify prime locations for commercial onshore wave energy stations in the U.S. and internationally. This initiative underscores the growing interest in sustainable energy solutions. There is  potential in wave energy to contribute significantly to global energy needs.

What Did the Viability Study Reveal?

The viability study, detailed in Eco Wave Power’s recent 20F report, spans three months and will examine numerous sites across the U.S. and key global regions. Specifically, the study will review 77 locations along the U.S. coastline. It will assess wave availability and the suitability of existing marine structures for wave energy conversion. The goal is to propose viable sites for commercial installations and develop a five to ten-year roadmap for the commercialization of wave energy.

Importance of Wave Energy

Wave energy represents a promising frontier in renewable energy. According to the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory, wave energy in the U.S. alone has the technical potential to produce over 1,400 terawatt-hours per year. This positions wave energy as crucial in transitioning to clean, sustainable energy sources.

Inna Braverman, Founder and CEO of Eco Wave Power, emphasized the significance of this study, stating: “Wave energy can power communities with clean, reliable energy and be a strong force in combating climate change. We are thrilled to help provide an in-depth analysis of wave energy to an industry leader exploring many avenues for clean energy.”

Technology and Expanding Footprint

Eco Wave Power has demonstrated the reliability and scalability of its wave energy technology through various operational power stations. Recently, the company connected its EWP-EDF One power station in Jaffa Port to Israel’s national energy grid. This marks a significant milestone in the practical application of wave energy. Additionally, Eco Wave Power has a pilot station at Alta Sea at the Port of Los Angeles. Once installed, it will be the first onshore wave energy pilot station in the U.S.

Global and Regional Impact

Eco Wave Power’s reach extends beyond the U.S. The company holds concession agreements for commercial installations across Europe and boasts a projects pipeline totaling 404.7 MW. This international presence is bolstered by funding from prestigious sources such as the European Union Regional Development Fund, Innovate UK, and the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 program. Furthermore, the United Nations’ Global Climate Action Award recognizes Eco Wave Power’s contributions to sustainable energy.

Looking Forward

The ongoing feasibility study is a crucial step toward realizing the full potential of wave energy. By identifying optimal locations and developing strategic roadmaps, Eco Wave Power aims to facilitate the large-scale adoption of wave energy. Their efforts thereby contribute to global efforts to reduce carbon emissions.

As the world seeks sustainable and reliable energy solutions, initiatives like this feasibility study by Eco Wave Power are vital. The company’s innovative approach and proven technology offer a promising path forward. By harnessing the power of the oceans, we can  generate clean energy and create a more sustainable future.

Conclusion

Eco Wave Power’s  comprehensive feasibility study marks a significant advancement in the exploration and implementation of wave energy solutions. With a proven track record and a forward-looking approach, Eco Wave Power is poised to play a pivotal role in the global transition to sustainable energy. This study highlights the potential of wave energy. It sets the stage for its future commercialization and widespread adoption.
