The exercise\u00a0 you get from exploring the great outdoors also helps reduce stress and boost your overall wellness this summer!<\/span><\/p>

Zoochosis & Connecting With Nature<\/b><\/h2>

Zoochosis is a term originally coined to describe the behaviours and mental states of animals in captivity. These animals are aware of their surroundings and know they are not living to their full, potential. However, researchers have found that humans can experience zoochosis as well. <\/span><\/p>

Zoochosis in humans doesn’t directly relate to being caged or confined\u2014that can be attributed to other mental health conditions. Instead, zoochosis in humans refers to the invisible cage we are\u00a0 forced to live in. This cage is made of the social norms governing what it means to be well. These norms may not always be accurate, but they’ve shaped our lives unknowingly, harming our mental health. To be normal and to fit in, we’ve passed these social norms, such as staying within the “comfort” of our homes, to future generations. They prevent us from exercising our sense of adventure and strengthening our connection to nature.<\/span><\/p>

While not everyone may experience the negative effects of zoochosis, it has been proven that spending more time outdoors and getting fresh air can significantly improve calmness and mental clarity.<\/span><\/p>

Why is Camping Popular in Canada?<\/b><\/h2>

With a vast variety of natural scenic destinations and well-developed infrastructure, Canada is full of excellent campsites. The country is home to provincial and national parks, as well as wilderness camping opportunities, making it easy to plan a trip suited to your family’s preferences. Canada offers a variety of camping choices, from national parks and national historic sites to marine conservation areas. Whether you\u2019re an experienced camper or just trying it out, there\u2019s a camping site for you!<\/span><\/p>

What Are Some Canadian Camping Sites?<\/b><\/h2>

1. Banff National Park<\/strong>
