If you watched the Super Bowl last month, you may have noticed a recurring theme when it came to the commercials: the electric vehicle (EV). Over the last few years, more car companies are following in Tesla\u2019s footsteps by creating their own EVs. As gas prices skyrocket and electric vehicles are becoming more affordable, we may see more and more people buying them, which would be a great benefit to the environment. Depending on where you live, various government programs offer grants to zero-emissions drivers to assist in bringing the main cost down and to incentivize people to purchase EVs.<\/p>

There are many advantages to driving an electric vehicle for both the environment and you as a consumer. Here are some key ones:<\/p>

1. Energy efficient<\/b><\/h2>

Electric motors are substantially more efficient than combustion engines. They convert 85% of electrical energy into motion, compared to the latter which only converts 40%.<\/p>

The design of electric motors in comparison to combustion engines makes them highly reliable. The design is simple, with minimal moving parts in the engine, which ensures no energy is lost. This makes trips to the mechanic much less likely or frequent. As a whole, electric motors offer greater efficiency when it comes to energy usage and the overall driver satisfaction.<\/p>

2.\u00a0Low maintenance<\/b><\/h2>

Electric vehicles are designed to be high performance and low maintenance. Car repairs can be expensive in this day and age. With EVs, you are not only are saving on gasoline costs needed to commute from point A to point B, but also on long-term maintenance. Your vehicle will last you longer and take you farther on the road.<\/p>

As soon as you start driving your EV, you will feel the difference as the car offers a smoother and quieter ride than that of a combustion engine. Although the up-front cost for electric cars is often more expensive than regular vehicles, you can gain the money back thanks to the lower cost of running and maintaining the car.<\/p>

3.\u00a0Reduced emissions<\/b><\/h2>

Reduced fossil fuels usage alone is a great reason to make the switch to EVs. Vehicles are a major source of air pollution across the world. By cutting down on these pollutants, we can reduce emissions. With EVs, we can recharge electricity with different renewable sources, keeping the planet cleaner every time you drive.<\/p>

4.\u00a0 Electricity is more affordable than gas<\/b><\/h2>

This benefit is easy to understand as gas prices continue to climb in many countries. Electricity is more affordable than gasoline and it is available domestically, unlike gas which is imported at a hefty fee.<\/p>

Many insurance companies offer special benefits to people with EVs as a way to encourage more drivers to make the switch to electric. Drivers can charge their battery through renewable sources such as solar panels or wind power. So charging your car supports your local economy and saves you money at the same time!<\/p>

Electric Vehicles: Make the Switch<\/strong><\/h2>

All in all, widespread adoption of electric cars will lead to a great improvement for the planet and drivers. As more companies continue to get on board and improve the technology behind EVs, we will see more of them on the road.<\/p>

So is it time for you to make the switch to an electric vehicle? Through this change, we can take significant steps in reducing our carbon footprint and making the air that we breathe in more clean. Although their full green potential is still a leap away, the small strides we take will make a massive difference in the health of our planet.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
