How To Throw An Eco-Friendly Party<\/strong><\/h2>

Whether it’s Christmas, New Year’s Eve, a birthday, or a casual Friday get-together, there are many reasons to party. Your first instinct might be to buy party decorations and supplies at the dollar store. However, the plastic cups, streamers, and glitter will likely end up in a landfill or even harm marine animals.<\/p>

Instead, let’s have fun without hurting our planet by throwing an eco-friendly party. Here’s how:<\/p>

1. Opt for DIY Decorations<\/strong><\/h4>

Create your own decorations for your eco-friendly party. You can make paper lanterns, tissue paper balls, or paper fans. It’s not complicated to do either. Just look up YouTube tutorials to get started. If you’ve got some sewing skills, you can also make table covers or runners.<\/p>

2. Buy Used Decorations<\/strong><\/h4>

You can also buy used decorations from Facebook Marketplace or buy and sell groups.<\/p>

3. Replace Single-Use Plates, Cutlery, & Containers With Reusable Options<\/strong><\/h4>

As much as doing the dishes feels like a hassle, especially after a long party that goes well into the night, it’s the better option for us and the environment. Invest in durable glass or metal plates and cutlery so you can reuse them for years.<\/p>

Replace plastic straws with stainless steel, silicone, or paper straws. Use dispensers to serve homemade lemonade or iced tea instead of buying them in bottles.<\/p>

If you are having a potluck party, ask your friends to bring food in metal trays or reusable containers. You may also ask them to bring their own containers to take home leftover food rather than packing them in ziplock bags or plastic containers.\u00a0<\/p>

4. Give Eco-Friendly Gifts in Sustainable Wrapping<\/strong><\/h4>

If you give your friends a DIY present or an otherwise sustainable gift, you’re educating them on the importance of the environment. your friends an eco-friendly gift, you will not only set a trend but also educate them on the importance of staying green. Make sure to wrap the gifts in paper wrapping, cloth, or even old clothes if possible.\u00a0<\/p>
